Community Commitment

We believe in giving back.

What We Do

At Grundy Bank, we contribute to the communities we serve through our time, talents and resources. We are dedicated to community involvement and believe it’s our responsibility to give back to the communities that trust us with their financial well-being. We believe that part of our role as a community bank is to better the community for years to come.

Our officers and employees serve on boards for non-profits and volunteer their personal time for a number of charitable organizations such as United Way, We Care of Grundy County, Kiwanis, Illinois Valley Industries, Habitat for Humanity, YMCA, Rotary District 6450, GEDC, Grundy County Chamber, Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, IBA Ag Banking Committee, Joliet Junior College Foundation Board, Grundy County Housing Authority, Immaculate Conception School Board as well as many more!

In addition, Grundy Bank has our own charitable group called the Grundy Bank Caring Committee that was formed over 10 years ago with the purpose to support non-profit organizations within our community.

Community Partnerships

Brown Bag Fridays

Brown Bag Friday is a free concert on the Grundy County Courthouse lawn on the 2nd Friday of June. Entertainer will vary.

Each year Grundy Bank sponsors a Hot Dog Eating Contest as part of our Brown Bag Fridays during the summer. The contestants are a variety of local government officials, community leaders, not-for-profit volunteers and fellow business men and women. Each contestant selects an organization to benefit from the event. Whether or not they win the competition, each organization will walk away with a donation.

Our annual Brown Bag Friday Ice Cream is always a hit with our ice cream stand. Scoops are sold for a small amount with unlimited toppings. All proceeds benefit the Grundy Bank Caring Committee.

United Way

Grundy Bank is a proud supporter of United Way of Grundy County. Each year employees pledge their personal funds to help support the organization along with a donation from Grundy Bank. We continue to receive 100% employee participation in contributing to the United Way each year.

Annual Coat Drive

Every winter, we organize a coat drive to help those in need stay warm during the colder months. We collect winter gear such as coats, scarves, boots, snow pants, and gloves at both our main Morris branch and our Wilmington branch. To ensure that the donations reach the right people, we partner with two local non-profit organizations. We accept donations of all sizes, for people of all ages. Our winter coat drive will start on Monday, October 16, 2023 and run through Friday, November 17, 2023. We ask that all donations are new or gently used.

Grundy Bank and the City of Morris Fireworks Extravaganza

We are proud to be a sponsor of the Morris Fireworks Extravaganza, an annual event that takes place at the Grundy County Fairgrounds. As a supporter, we recognize the importance of community events that bring people together to celebrate. We are thrilled to contribute to the success of this event and hope that everyone has a fantastic time enjoying the fireworks display. Our commitment to supporting our local community is unwavering, and we look forward to continuing our support for the Morris Fireworks Extravaganza in the future.

Additional events include…

Back to School Drive

Every year in August, we kick off our Back to School Drive to support the Wilmington School District. Our drive accepts donations from students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. All donations go towards helping students in need get the supplies they need to succeed in school. Join us in giving back to the community and helping students start the school year off right!

Jeans Day

At our bank, we have a culture of giving back to our community. Every month, we select a non-profit organization to support. On Fridays, our employees are allowed to wear jeans to work if they donate to the selected organization. This initiative helps us to support 12 different non-profit organizations every year. We take pride in being able to make a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Fill Micro Pantries

At our company, we prioritize giving back to our community and supporting local organizations. One of the ways we do this is through our annual support of local micro pantries. We believe that access to basic necessities like food and household items is a human right, and we are committed to doing our part to help. Through our donations of dry goods, paper goods, and other essential items, we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Every year, our employees devote their time to ringing bells and raising funds for a good cause. Our goal is to help our community in Grundy County by contributing to local charities and supporting residents in need. Through our collective efforts, we have been able to make a positive impact and improve the lives of those around us. We are proud to continue this tradition of giving back and look forward to making a difference in the years to come.
