We believe in giving back.
At Grundy Bank we contribute to the communities we serve through our time, talents and resources. We are dedicated to community involvement and believe it's our responsibility to give back to the communities that trust us with their financial well-being. We believe that part of our role as a community bank is to better the community for years to come.
Our officers and employees serve on boards for nonprofits and volunteer their personal time for a number of charitable organizations such as United Way, We Care of Grundy County, Kiwanis, Illinois Valley Industries, Habitat for Humanity, YMCA and many more. In addition, Grundy Bank has our own charitable group called the Grundy Bank Caring Committee that was formed over 10 years ago with the purpose to support not for profit organizations within our community.
Brown Bag Fridays'
Brown Bag Friday is a free concert on the Grundy County Courthouse lawn on select Fridays through the summer months provided by Grundy Bank and WCSJ/WJDK. Entertainers vary for each concert. At most Brown Bag Fridays the Grundy Bank Caring Committee has a concession stand with hot dog lunches to benefit local charities.
Each year Grundy Bank sponsors a Hot Dog Eating Contest as part of our Brown Bag Fridays. The contestants are a variety of local government officials, community leaders, not for profit volunteers and fellow business men and women. Each contestant selects an organization to benefit from the event. Whether or not they win the competition, each organization will walk away with a donation.
Morris Community High School and Saratoga Grade School Bands have performed at our Brown Bag concert series with concession proceeds benefiting both bands.
Our annual Brown Bag Friday Ice Cream Social is always a hit with our patriotic ice cream stand. Scoops are sold for 25 cents each with unlimited toppings. All proceeds benefit the Grundy Bank Caring Committee.
Our annual Kids Day event raised money to purchase school supplies for our local schools and families who need assistance. Our Kids Day includes a Karaoke Contest, coloring contest, games, face painting and lots of fun for the kids in our community.

Grundy Bank is a proud supporter of United Way of Grundy County. Each year employees pledge their personal funds to help support the organization along with a donation from Grundy Bank. In 2014 we raised over $3,000 in our combined efforts.
Annual Coat Drive
The Caring Committee's Annual Coat Drive has collected over 3,200 coats in 7 years. Many of the donations are given to We Care of Grundy County, Cornerstone, Saratoga Grade School, White Oak Elementary School, Kuzma Care, Christian Help Association and more.
The 2016 Coat Drive begins October 1st and runs through October 31st. We will accept any gently used or new coat at any of our branch locations. Help keep someone warm this year!
Every Christmas our Caring Committee adopts one to two families through We Care of Grundy County. In addition to employees buying gifts for the children, we hold an annual bake sale where all proceeds go toward our Adopt-a-Family.
Grundy Bank employees participate in various financial literacy programs with local schools. We participate in the American Bankers Association "Teach Children to Save" campaign and we have also partnered with EverFi, a new interactive financial literacy program for high school students. This program provides financial education lessons which students use to make key financial decisions throughout their life. The students receive a Certification in Financial Literacy upon successful completion. We have students enrolled at Morris Community High School and at Wilmington High School with no cost to the school.
